A Chica carries herself with a Caring, Hermosa (beautiful) and Inspiring Can do Attitude. She lives her life trying to do the best that she can.
This month we feature a family of Chicas who have kept close ties with their community since opening their business, nine years ago.
Wanting independence, and most importantly, to set an example for her daughters Amanda and Allie Concilio, Caryann Concilio partnered with her sister Amy Rigano and founded Bamboo Salon.
Along with their seasoned staff, Bamboo Salon is committed to delivering quality, professional products and services in an intimate and relaxed atmosphere, making it one of the must go to hair salons in Staten Island, NY.
From the beginning, they’ve been giving back by organizing fundraising activities such as an annual Bake Sale for Cookies for Kids Cancer and their ongoing support to CHASI, Community Health Action of Staten Island, a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization. The mission of Community Health Action of Staten Island is to improve the lives of individuals, families and communities challenged by health disparities related to poverty, discrimination and lack of access through direct service, education and advocacy.
