It’s easy to love shoes, heck…it’s easy to buy shoes. Just ask me, I have many as I am sure you do too…But boots? You see, strapping on boots for me (growing up in the tropics)…well, Houston…we had a Fashion problem!
I struggled, I searched, I whined, I refused to adapt my style to this weather. Until one day, I walked the streets of Manhattan looking cute…feet frozen and that decided that never again.
So what do you do when you find shoes you love? You share your finds with others, right? When I finally came to terms with the fact that I couldn’t pray winters away, I set out on a mission to find my loyal friends to brave the cold.
If I had to pick just three, here are what they would be:
1. The Ankle Bootie. This is my go to heel during winter. You can dress up or down. My favorite pair is The York Bootie by Michael Kors. A little splurge that will stand the the test of time. You can get a pair here.
2. The Riding Boot. The Camel Riding Boot to be exact. This is the BEST INVESTMENT you will ever make. Riding boots are always on trend, but this color goes with everything. They will carry you through spring and then fall. My favorite ones are by Coach. So worth the splurge. I’ve owned the same pair for 8 years and they’ve only gotten more comfortable and the worn leather more beautiful with time. You can get a pair here.
3. The Snow Boot. Ugh. Just saying snow makes me cringe. and snow boots can be clunky, heavy and quite frankly, fugly. However, I found a pair that will not only keep your feet warm, but will also up your fashion game. I get so many compliments when I wear my Mata Women’s Fur Lace-Up Waterproof Winter Boots. They are cute and beyond warm. They are originally $279, but you can get a sweet Groupondeal and get a pair for only $39 here.
