In my heart, I know WHY I am doing what I do: to empower other women, specially moms who struggled as I did, to feel fabulous about themselves, after having kids.

Gotta’ get the hair done 🙂 Thanks Jenn! |
I am very excited to share with you that on Wednesday, I was interviewed by Elisabeth Hasselbeck from The View, for a segment on Good Morning America to talk about precisely that. I am ECSTATIC!!!!!!
What I really want to share with you is that what is most exciting for me, was the process of getting there.
Many people have asked me how this happened?
Well, (aside from the fact that I have been working towards/speaking about this for 3 years) it was simple really… there was no PR firm involved, no real “hustle” to land this gig…just a genuine connection with a young woman I mastermind with.
Also, two weeks ago, talking to a friend I said to her, “I know that I will be sharing my story with the world…like on TV.” I finished the sentence with, “It’s only a matter of WHEN.” I laughed at myself, BUT with that laugh came acknowledgment, because I knew it to be true. This is what I also know to be true:
*Set your intentions and do the work. “Vision without action is merely a dream. Action without vision just passes the time. Vision with action can change the world.” ”Nuff Said.
*Surround yourself with like minded people, those who support, but also challenge you to be the best you.
I connected with an amazing group of women 2 years ago in Savor the Success. In fact, this is where I met the young woman who hooked me up. Thank you Renee Pena.

*ENJOY the fruits of your labor. Love yourself enough to really enjoy the process and OWN it. I personally struggled with this a lot, but I have worked my butt off for an opportunity like this… So BRING IT!

Eric, my driver for the day 🙂 I could totally get used to that! |
*Be grateful. For/to my customers and to everyone who has one way or another helped me get here…THANK YOU! I am humbled and so grateful.
In essence, be yourself and genuinely connect with other people. I was only able to come out of my shell, and really embrace my whole me, connecting with other women. This phrase has been my mantra since: “My ability to get through my day greatly depends on the relationship that I have with other women…We have to be able to champion other women. We have to root for each other’s successes and not delight in one another’s failures.” Michelle Obama, First Lady
While we may not agree with each other on certain things like politics or even fashion…women, can ALWAYS connect with each other on so many other levels. Have empathy of those in your circle who are trying to figure life out and are doing the best they can. Be a Chica for someone else: A Chica is a Caring Hermosa Inspiring woman living with a Can do Attitude.
It’s easier to follow and it takes real courage to be honest with yourself. When you decide to do so…sit back and watch the blessings pour into your life. Onward Chicas!
