Manicure Drama?

One of the easiest ways to add a little flavor to your look is simply painting your nails. But, when you have kids and/or are a busy body, scheduling in a manicure can be difficult.

Alternative? You give yourself one at home, right? Right!

But then you do, and keeping those nails from getting ruined while they dry…with the kids, the dogs, the computer…well, that can be a challenge.

Here’s a tip I hope will help you as much as it does me:

When your nails are ready for polish, make sure you have somewhere to go where you’ll be driving for at least 5-8 minutes (with a quick drying top coat, that’s all you need).

As soon as you get in the car, paint your nails and then apply the fast drying top coat. Then, go where you need to be. By the time you get there, your nails will be dry to the touch and the chances of ruining them are almost 0 to none.

I do this right after dropping my oldest son at day care. By the time I drive back home or where I need to, my baby is asleep in his car seat and I’m home free 😉

I know the first couple of times may be a little tricky, but you’ll get the hang of it…plus, when you finally get to enjoy your manicure without the drama drying, you’ll be happy you did!

  • What a cool tip! Especially for those of us on the go all the time. I'm going to try painting my nails in the car because you are right, I mess up so many manicure immediately after I paint them. Not to mention it's hard finding time to go to a salon or paint them myself. This is the perfect solution! – Dorethiawww.themoneychat.com
