For a long time, I always felt like an outlier, weird, an outcast, misunderstood, strange, and many other words used to describe those of us who are different. Those who never fit in or went with the crowd. I re-read Braving the Wilderness by Brené Brown over vacation and reassessed how every chapter desmistified a lie I used to tell myself about who I believed I was -at some point in my life.
As Maya Angelou and Brené wrote, I belong every place. I belong no place. I do 100% belong to myself.
“You are only free when you realize you belong no place — you belong every place — no place at all. The price is high. The reward is great.” Maya Angelou
